MATTEO d'UBFA (EDESSA). – Armenian historian of the 12th century, author of a Chronicle or Annals, in which historical events from 952 to 1136 are narrated.
M.’s work is written in an unpolished style, but is interesting for its content, especially in the final section concerning the Crusaders. The French Armenologist E. Dulaurier translated M.’s work and included it, with the Armenian text, in the series Recueil des historiens des Croisades (Documents arméniens, I, Paris 1858).
