MICHAEL GLYCAS. — Byzantine writer, born in the first third of the 13th century and died at the end of the same century. He is the author of a universal chronicle, theological letters, explanations of popular sayings, and a lengthy poem. He upheld the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption of Mary.
