MISSIONARIES OF THE SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY (Majorca). - A religious congregation founded by Fr. Gioacchino Rossellò Ferrà and canonically erected by the bishop of Majorca on 17 Aug. 1890. On 6 May 1932 it obtained the decree of praise.
Its purpose is to spread devotion to the Most Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, defend the Catholic faith, and promote spiritual progress in society through missions among Catholics and unbelievers, spiritual exercises, preaching, and the education of youth.
Today the Congregation consists of 80 priests, 30 lay brothers, 35 students, 20 novices, and 200 younger students distributed among three apostolic schools.
