MONUMENTA ORDINIS SERVORUM SANCTAE MARIAE. - A publication intended to reproduce and disseminate the principal historical documents, preferably the oldest, concerning the Order of the Servants of Mary.
It was begun in Belgium (Brussels) in 1897 by Fathers Agostino M. Morini and Pellegrino M. Soulier of the same Order, who edited it until 1908. According to the editors’ plan, at least one volume (more than 200 large quarto pages) was to appear each year; in fact, however, the volumes published to date number twenty, together with three supplements to vols. XI, XIII, and XX. The last volume bears the date 1930: in the following years, owing to the subsequent publication of the periodical Studi storici sull'Ordine dei Servi di Maria (from the year 1933, the seventh centenary of the Order), and later because of the difficulties caused by the war and its consequences, publication was in fact suspended.
From 1908 onward, Fathers G. Vangelisti, L. Raffaelli, and G. Zinkl joined Fr. Soulier in the editorial work; in 1926, upon the death of Fr. Soulier, the editorship passed to Fr. Raffaele M. Taucci. Alessio M. Rossi
