MOSES III SUNETZI. - Katholikos of the Armenians (1628-33), commonly called Tathevatzi, because he was educated in the monastery of Tathev.

Avido di studio e di ascesi spirituale fin dalla fanciullezza, seguì i grandi maestri del tempo, Serapione Urhayetzi e Gregorio Kesaratzi. Elected katholikós of Egmiadzin, he carried out a reforming activity, exerting a great influence on the monastic, cultural and moral rebirth of eastern Armenia.

He had friendly relations with Pope Urban VIII. He died in the odor of sanctity and remains a figure of the first importance in the history of the Armenian Church.
