OTURKPO, APOSTOLIC PREFECTURE. — It is situated in the central-eastern part of Nigeria. It was established on 9 July 1934 under the name BENE (v.), changed to O. on 18 April 1950, when the episcopal hierarchy was established in British West Africa.
