RACOWIA, CATECHISM OF. — Fundamental text of the Socinians (v. SOCINI), published in Polish in Racowia (Rakau in Poland) in 1605, reprinted in German in 1608 and in Latin in 1609 with some alterations.
It is a true treatise of antitrinitarian theology, divided into eight sections; in the fourth, devoted to the person of Jesus Christ, it is affirmed that He may be called God, because after His Resurrection He had all power in heaven and on earth, but that in Him there is no divine nature. The Catechism of Racowia is now replaced by the *Manual of Unitarian Belief* by James Freeman Clarke, a disciple of Channing.
