SEBA (Heb. Šebha', “oath”?, “the seven [divinities]”?). — A Benjaminite, son of Bochri (Gen. 46:21), the “pestilential man” mentioned in II Sam. 20. He David (v.) just as the rebellion of Absalom was coming to an end. He traversed all Israel as far as the extreme north to gather followers, but few heeded him. Pursued by David’s men, he shut himself up in Abel beth-Maacha, whose inhabitants, however, cut off his head and threw it to the besiegers.
