SISINNIO II. — He was patriarch of Constantinople (996–998). Two synodal acts concerning matrimonial legislation and one concerning the metropolitan Nicolaus of Alania have been preserved from him. According to V. Grumel, he did not republish the encyclical of Photius against the Filioque; but according to Michel (Byzantinische Zeitschrift, 28 [1938], pp. 454–56), this doubt would not be justified in the light of a Moscow manuscript.
