TEXTE UND UNTERSUCHUNGEN ZUR GESCHICHTE DER ALTCHRISTLICHEN LITERATUR. - A series of texts relating to the history of ancient Christian literature and of philological and historical studies referring to them.

It was begun by Adolf von Harnack (v.) together with O. von Gebhardt, who was succeeded by Ch. Schmidt, in Leipzig in 1882, reaching, up to 1952, the number of 57 volumes, divided into 4 series. Harnack (v.) conceived this collection of studies as a philological and historical basis together, on which to build his Geschichte der altschristlichen Literatur bis Eusebius. The series of T. u. U. has been greatly meritorious for the publication of many ancient Christian texts either entirely unpublished or badly edited.
