FLAVIUS VOPISCUS SYRACUSIUS (Flavius Vopiscus Syracusius). — He is the sixth of the Scriptores Historiae Augustae. The manuscript tradition attributes to him the lives of the emperors Aurelian, Tacitus with his brother Florianus, Probus, and the usurpers who followed Aurelian and Probus: Firmus, Saturninus, Proculus and Bonosus, Carus, Numerian and Carinus (the so-called "Thirty Tyrants"). For Vopiscus as well, the period of composition is the Diocletianic-Constantinian era.
