VOPISCO (Flavius Vopiscus Syracusius). — He is the sixth of the Scriptores Historiae Augustae. The manuscript tradition attributes to him the lives of the emperors Aureliano, Tacito and his brother Floriano, Probo, and the usurpers who followed Aureliano and Probo: Firmo Saturnino, Proculo and Bonoso, Caro, Numeriano and Carino (the “thirty tyrants”). For V. too, the period of composition is that of Diocletian and Constantine.
