ABAD y LASIERA, AGUSTÍN IGNACIO. — Spanish Benedictine, b. at Estadilla (Aragon) in 1745, d. in 1813. He spent eleven years in Puerto Rico, collecting documents on the history and geography of the place, from which he drew up a *Historia geográfica, civil y política de la isla de San Juan de Puerto Rico* (Madrid, 1788).
