ABINAL, ANTOINE

ABINAL, ANTOINE. – Jesuit missionary, born at Chanac on 10 January 1829, died on 11 November 1887 in Madagascar. Together with Fr. La Vaissière, he published the work Vingt ans à Madagascar (Paris 1881), and with Fr. Malzac a Dictionnaire malgache français (Tananariva 1888).

He translated many books of the New and Old Testaments and the Imit. di Cristo into Malagasy.
