ADALBERONE, II, VESCOVO DI METZ

ADALBERO II, bishop of METZ. — Son of Frederick, duke of Upper Lorraine, and of Beatrice, niece of Adalbero I. He was elected bishop of Metz on 16 Oct. 984 and consecrated on 28 Dec. of the same year. He built and restored many monasteries; he left a great reputation for holiness and many martyrologies celebrate his name with the title of blessed. He died on 14 Dec. 1005.
