Adam of Clermont

ADAMO DI CLERMONT

ADAM OF CLERMONT. - Chronicler, who lived during the 13th century.

Two works are attributed to him: a Chronicon still unpublished, which narrates the events of the years 1218-70, and the Flores Historiarum, a kind of compendium of the Speculum Historiale of Vincent of Beauvais, which extends up to 1276, that is, to the year of the death of Pope Gregory X, to whom the work is dedicated. It has not yet been possible to establish whether these two works are actually distinct or whether one is rather the compendium of the other.
