ADENULFO (ATENULFO). — Archbishop of Capua, died before 1059. He held the archiepiscopal see from 1008 to 1058. During this time he had to endure the overbearing conduct of Prince Pandolfo II, who on one occasion even had him imprisoned; he was later freed by the Emperor Corrado II. In 1032 he consecrated the bishop of Sessa, and in 1044 that of Atina.
The Epistola in passionem beatissimi Marci Atinae civitatis episcopi and the Passio Sanctorum Martyrum Atinensium Nicandri et Marciani, both published by Ughelli, are his works.
