ADENULFO (ADINOLFO). — Abbot of St Paul’s in Rome, d. 13 September 1322. He was counsellor to Robert of Naples and enjoyed great esteem with the Roman senate. He was much disliked by the Colonnas, who sought to blacken his name before the papal court at Avignon and seized the castle of Riano, which belonged to the monastery of St Paul. Various letters of his survive, addressed to Pope JOHN XXII, to King Robert and to several cardinals concerning affairs of his monastery.
