ADELARDO II, CATTANEO. – Cardinal, born at Lendinara at the end of the 12th century. He was a canon of Verona and in 1183 or 1184 was created cardinal by Lucius III. At the time of the Third Crusade he was sent to the East by Pope Clement III. In 1188 or 1189 he was elected bishop of Verona, but in 1214 he renounced his episcopal dignity and retired to the monastery of S. Zeno, where he died around 1225.
