Adlung, Jakob

ADLUNG, JAKOB. - Musician, b. at Bindersleben, near Erfurt, on 14 Jan. 1699, d. at Erfurt on 5 July 1762. He was an organist (1727), and later a professor at the gymnasium of Erfurt (1741). His works are important for the history of music: Einleitung zu der musikalischen Gelehrtheit, (Erfurt 1758); Musica meccanica organoedi; Musikalisches Siebengestirn, published together with the preceding at Berlin in 1768 by Albrecht after the author's death.
