ADLUNG, JAKOB

ADLUNG, JAKOB. – Musician, born in Bindersleben, near Erfurt, on 14 January 1699, died in Erfurt on 5 July 1762. He was an organist (1727), and subsequently a professor at the Erfurt gymnasium (1741). His works are important for the history of music: Einleitung zu der musikalischen Gelehrtheit (Erfurt, 1758); Musica mechanica organoedi; Musikalisches Siebengestirn, published together with the preceding work in Berlin in 1768 by Albrecht after the author’s death.
