Adolph of Anhalt

ADOLFO d’ANHALT. – Bishop of Merseburg, born on 16 October 1458, died there on 24 March 1526. A member of the princes of Anhalt, he was directed toward an ecclesiastical career. Having become bishop of Merseburg, he proved an excellent administrator and zealous pastor. He was most zealous in combating Luther and the Reformation.
