AHIAI. - He was elected archbishop of Seleucia in 411 and died in 415 or 416. He had been a disciple of Abda, the founder of a monastery and of a school over which he had placed him. He was sent by King Yazdegerd to Persia to settle the dispute that had arisen between him and the son of Shapur his brother, who governed that region. Having completed his mission, he visited the tombs of the martyrs of the persecution of Shapur II, and wrote their acts together with the life of Abda his teacher. He eradicated the practice of magic that had infiltrated among the Catholics through the work of the Manichaeans and the Marcionites.
