ALBERTO di SANT'EGIDIO (Gilles Leroy). — French Carmelite, born in Dol (Brittany); he was among the first to profess the new Carmelite reform at Rennes, on 2 August 1609. He taught theology at Nantes and received his degree at Paris. He died in the convent of Auray on 14 November 1670, praised by his contemporaries for his erudition. He published: Oraison funèbre du roi... Louis XIII (Parigi 1643); Paulus praedicans resurrectionem mortuorum, seu explanatio theologica cap. XV Epist. I. s. Pauli ad Cor. (Rennes 1654).
