ALBERTO di Sant'Egidio (Gilles Leroy). - French Carmelite, born in Dol (Brittany); he was among the first professed of the new Carmelite reform of Touraine, at Rennes, on 2 Aug. 1609. He taught theology in Nantes and earned a degree in Paris. He died in the convent of Auray on 14 Nov. 1670, praised by contemporaries for his erudition. He published: Oraison funèbre du roi... Louis XIII (Paris 1643); Paulus praedicans resurrectionem mortuorum, seu explanatione theologica cap. XV Epist. I. Pauli ad Cor. (Rennes 1654).
