ANCELLE dell'IMMACOLATO CUORE DI MARIA. – A religious institute founded at Lerida in Spain in 1862 by Speranza Gonzales y Puig for the re-education of wayward women and the Christian instruction of young women. Gonzales’s brother provided substantial material assistance to the foundation, enabling the work to develop and spread. The Holy See approved it in 1887.
