HANDMAIDS OF REPARATION OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS. – A religious institute founded in Messina in 1918 by Maria Anna Palermo, assisted by the canon Antonino Celona, to help parish priests in catechetical instruction and in making and restoring sacred furnishings; the sisters also promote Eucharistic worship through apostolic works and the practice of special devotion to the Most Blessed Sacrament.
It was approved by the Holy See in 1935 and numbers 154 religious in 11 houses. Silverio Mattei
