ANGELO MARIA da Vicenza. - Theologian and Capuchin preacher, born Marchesini, famous in his time, born in Vicenza in 1615, died there in April 1690. He wrote extensively in prose and verse, in Italian and Latin, with a style that embodies all the defects of his century.
As an orator, he preferred to treat of the Eucharist. Indeed, the three volumes: *La tromba ninnvita* (Bassano 1676), *L'araldo evangelico* (Venice 1686), and *Il Cornucopia eucaristico* (Vicenza 1688), are collections of discourses delivered on the occasion of Eucharistic adoration in the form of Forty Hours. He published a work of spirituality: *Riffessi morali* (2 vols., Venice 1683), in which the very titles of the chapters reveal the artificial and triumphant manner of the worst sentiment. He also composed a *Dialogo Spirituale tra il corpo e l'anima, il demonio e l'angelo santo* (Venice 1678), and a short poem: *Il Pianto Redentore e gli Strumenti adorati* (Vicenza 1682).
