ANGELO FRANCESCO DI SANTA TERESA

ANGELO FRANCESCO di SANTA TERESA. – Discalced Carmelite, in the world G. B. Viglioti, born on 16 September 1650 at Mondovi, died on 17 October 1712. In 1675, together with three other missionaries, he was sent to Malabar, where he established at Verapoly the first seminary for the Syro-Malabar clergy (1687), and brought many schismatic Churches back into union with Rome. On 20 February 1700 he was elected apostolic vicar of Malabar.
