ANGELO FRANCESCO DI SANTA TERESA

ANGELO FRANCESCO of Santa Teresa. - Discalced Carmelite, in secular life G. B. Viglioti, born on 16 Sept. 1650 at Mondovì, died on 17 Oct. 1712. In 1675, together with three other missionaries, he was sent to Mabar, where he established at Verapoly the first seminary for the Syro-Malabar clergy (1687), and brought back many schismatic Churches to union with Rome. On 20 Feb. 1700 he was elected Apostolic Vicar of Malabar.
