ANASTASIO della CROCE. – A German Discalced Carmelite, in the world Benedikt Falck. Born on 9 April 1706 (not 1701, as some authors state) in Münster, he donned the religious habit at Munich in 1724, and died on 9 June 1761 at Augsburg, where he was a lecturer in theology. He was also a good poet and an excellent engraver, and enriched his works with very beautiful engravings, such as, for example: Sancta Theologia universa Sacris Bibliorum figuris illustrata (Augsburg 1738); Effigies Romanorum Pontificum (ibid. 1751), and others.
