ANGELO di SAN GIUSEPPE. — Discalced Carmelite, in the world Giuseppe Labrosse, missionary and Orientalist; born in 1636 in Toulouse, he entered Carmel in 1654 and was in Persia from 1664. Returning to Europe (1678), he was sent (1679) as general visitor to the mission in Holland, whence he went to England (1684); he was prior, then provincial, of Perpignan, where he died on 29 December 1697, after having published: Pharmacopaea Persica (Paris 1681); Gazophylacium linguae Persarum (Amsterdam 1684).
