ADOLFO da DENDERWINDEKE. — Capuchin ascetical author, b. at Denderwindeke (Belgium) on 1 May 1863, d. on 7 Dec. 1925. In the Order he was for many years novice master, definitor, and general custodian. He specialized in preaching retreats to religious communities. His superiors compelled him to publish his instructions to the novices of the Belgian province.
The work entitled: Compendium Theologiae asceticae ad vitam sacerdotalem et religiosam rite instituendam, tironum franciscalium usui (2 vols., Hong Kong and Paris 1921) condenses the knowledge and experience of a long life devoted to the spiritual education of young religious.
