ANTONELLO DA SERRAVALLE

ANTONELLO da SERRAVALLE. – Venetian painter of the 15th century about whom precise information is lacking; in 1485 he signed a fresco representing the Madonna enthroned with the Child and two Saints in S. Andrea at Serravalle, and perhaps painted another Madonna with the Child in the portico of Palazzo Tedesco in the same city. He was repeatedly confused with Antonello da Messina and with Antonello da Saliba.
