ARIBONE SCOLASTICO (Aribo Scholasticus). - Musician, lived in the 11th century. Alongside Giovanni di Liegi, he was one of the most authoritative disseminators of the theories of Guido d'Arezzo. He left us a treatise *De musica*, reproduced in *Scriptores ecclesiastici* by Gerbert. He seems to have been born in Frisinga, since Fr. Martini, in a manuscript preserved at the music school in Bologna, calls him *Frisingensis*.
