ASSMAYER, IGNAZ. - Musician, b. in Salzburg on 11 Feb. 1790, d. in Vienna on 31 Aug. 1862. A pupil of Michael Haydn, he was an organist and renowned composer. Master of the Court Chapel, he wrote 15 masses, 5 oratorios and many other sacred pieces, not all of them published.
