BALDESCHI, GIUSEPPE. – Liturgist, of the Congregation of the Mission, born in Ischia di Castro (Viterbo) on 1 July 1791, died in Rome on 19 April 1849. Master of the pontifical ceremonies under Leo XII, he wrote an Esposizione delle sacre cerimonie (4 vols., Rome 1823), reprinted several times and translated into French and German, noteworthy for its clarity.
