BARALLI, RAFFAELLO

BARALLI, RAFFAELLO. — Musician, born in Comigliano (Lucca) on 25 June 1862, died in 1922. A priest, he devoted himself actively to Gregorian chant, teaching at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome.

In addition to various studies, he wrote many articles in the Rassegna Gregoriana and other periodicals; together with Luigi Torchi he published the Trattato di Prosdocino de Beldemandis contro il Lucidario di Marchetto da Padova, and also translated H. M. Bannister’s Paleografia musicale vaticana into Italian.
