BEATRICE della CONCEZIONE. — A most illustrious mystic who died in 1646, natural daughter of the Duke of Terranova. Forcibly confined by her father in the convent of the Clarisses at Salamanca (1612), she then turned entirely to God and lived a holy life.
Favoured with graces of contemplation and ecstasy, she wrote four mystical treatises: *De las hablas que haze Dios al alma en lo más escondido del centro de ella*; *De otra manera de hablas más en lo exterior*; *De las pasiones del amor*; *De la fe vida*. These works were printed together with the biography of B. (pp. 268–344) in the third book of the work *Fundación del convento de la Purísima Concepción de Franciscanas Descalzas de la ciudad de Salamanca* (Salamanca 1696), composed by the very humble Manuela della S.ma Trinità.
