BEATRICE della CONCEZIONE. — A mystical Poor Clare, born in 1594 and deceased in 1646, natural daughter of the duke of Terranova. Her father forcibly confined her in the Poor Clare monastery of Salamanca (1612); she subsequently turned wholly to God and lived a holy life.
Favored with graces of contemplation and ecstasy, she wrote four mystical treatises: De las hablas que haze Dios al alma en lo más escondido del centro de ella; De otra manera de hablas más en lo exterior; De las pasiones del amor; De la fé viva. These works were printed together with the biography of B. (pp. 268–344) in book 3 of the work Fundación del convento de la Purísima Concepción de Franciscanas Descalzas de la ciudad de Salamanca (Salamanca 1696), composed by the abbess Manuela della S.ma Trinità.
