BELLAMY, JEAN-JULIEN. – Theologian, born in Moustoir-ac in 1857, died in Vannes on 22 May 1903. He first taught philosophy, then Sacred Scripture and Church history at the major seminary of Vannes.
He contributed various articles to the DB and the DThC. His name is chiefly associated with a work of theological popularization: La vie surnaturelle considérée dans son principe (Paris, 1891), and with a historical study: La théologie catholique au XIXe siècle (ibid., 1904), published posthumously under the editorship of J.-V. BAINVEL, VINCENT, whose introduction contains some biographical and bibliographical notes on the author.
