BERTOT, Abbé. - A French priest, born in Normandy around 1620, a friend of Jean de Bernières, and died in 1681. He was one of Guyon (v.).
His posthumous work, *Le directeur mystique* (4 vols., Cologne, but actually in Holland, 1729), extols the "prayer of pure and naked faith"; however, since the work appears to have been published under the care of Guyon, it is difficult to determine to what extent she respected the author's thought.
