BONAVENTURA da POTENZA, Blessed. - Conventual friar, born in Potenza on 4 January 1651, died in Ravello on 26 October 1711. He entered religious life in 1666. Drawn to the mystical life, he temporarily abandoned his studies, which he could pursue only with great difficulty. In 1675, in Amalfi, he was ordained a priest. He resided in various convents, including Maranola, Giuliano, Capri, and Isola d’Ischia; in the latter, particularly through preaching and caring for the sick, he fully revealed his apostolic zeal. In Nocera dei Pagani, he served as master of novices from 1703 to 1707. Beatified on 29 June 1775.
