BOTTAZZO, LUIGI. – Musician, born in Presina on 9 July 1845, died in Padua on 29 December 1924. Having become blind at the age of nine, he soon devoted himself successfully to sacred music. He was organist at the Institute for the Blind in Padua, where he had studied, and at the Basilica of the Saint from 1872, as well as professor of organ at the Royal Musical Institute. He wrote Masses, motets, hymns, and pieces for organ. With Oreste Ravanello, he published the method L'Organista di Chiesa and other instructional works; he also edited editions of organ works by ancient and modern composers.
