BRUMEL, ANTON. – Flemish musician, born around 1480 and died after 1540. A contemporary of Després (v.) and a pupil of Okeghem (v.), he left five Masses for four and six voices, published by Petrucci in 1503, as well as various motets and songs found in manuscript in the libraries of Munich, Bologna, and Milan. Three copies of the great twelve-voice Mass Et ecce terrae exist, in Vienna, Munich, and Paris.
