BRUMEL, ANTON. - Flemish musician, b. around 1480 and d. after 1540. A contemporary of Després (v.) and a pupil of Okeghem (v.), there survive by him 5 masses for 4 and 6 voices published by Petrucci in 1503, as well as various motets and songs found in manuscript in the libraries of Munich, Bologna and Milan. Of the great 12-voice mass Et ecce terrae there exist three copies, in Vienna, Munich and Paris.
