CAMAGÜEY, DIOCESE OF. - A city in the province of Camagüey on the island of Cuba, and a suffragan diocese of Santiago de Cuba.
It comprises the civil province of Camagüey and has an area of 26,098 sq. km. There are 500,000 Catholics out of a total population of 530,000; 54 churches, 16 parishes, with 21 secular priests and 33 regular clergy. The diocese was erected in 1912 by separation from the dioceses of Santiago de Cuba and Havana.
