Cattellani, Vincenzo

CATTELLANI, VINCENZO. - Oratorian, b. 13 Oct. 1742 in Reggio Emilia, where he always lived and died in Sept. 1804. An exemplary priest, he was an examiner of clerics and parish priests, and was elected superior of his Congregation several times.

He was an elegant writer and poet in both Latin and Italian. Besides short poems of a secular character, he published various pamphlets of novenas, prayers, paraphrases of biblical canticles, short poems for monastic professions and priestly consecrations, and an ascetical biography: Vita della serva di Dio Rosa M. Martini, giovinetta secolare fiorentina morta il 20 febbr. 1769 in età di 22 anni (Florence 1773).
