CHAMBON, MARIE-MARTHE. - Born at La Croix-Rouge on 6 March 1841, died at Chambéry on 21 March 1907. A daughter of the countryside, she entered in 1864 the monastery of the Visitation at Chambéry, where she was a lay sister until her death, employed in the refectory and in the boarding school. Through a vision of the bleeding Crucifix, she devoted herself to the cult of the Holy Wounds, of which she had daily and striking visions. In 1875 she received the stigmata.
