CHAMBON, MARIE-MARTHE. – Born at La Croix-Rouge on 6 March 1841, died at Chambéry on 21 March 1907. A peasant girl, she entered the monastery of the Visitation at Chambéry in 1864, where she remained as a lay sister until her death, serving in the refectory and the boarding school. Following a vision of the bleeding Crucified Christ, she devoted herself to the veneration of the Holy Wounds, of which she had daily and striking visions. In 1875 she received the stigmata.
