CEPEDA, FÉLIX ALEJANDRO. — Born at La Serena (Chile) on 19 November 1854, died at Madrid on 29 January 1930. After teaching in the seminaries as a priest, he entered the Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at Santiago in 1888 and was immediately assigned to Segovia in Spain. In 1895 he became provincial superior of Catalonia; he resigned the office in 1902 and left for Mexico, where, as an able preacher and organizer, he again became provincial superior. During the world war he took refuge in the United States, opening new houses. On returning to
Mexico, he was summoned to Madrid in 1918 and, in 1920, appointed general consultor of the Congregation. In 1920 he returned to America, and in 1923 departed for Africa. He was a journalist and an effective writer.
