CONGREGATION OF THE HOLY CROSS OF SAN QUENTIN. — It originated in 1622 at Amiens through the work of Cristoforo Belliot, vicar general of Amiens, with the collaboration of several priests and younger men, for the education of youth. The college of S. Quentin was famous, and from it the institution took its definitive name. Reconstituted after the French Revolution, it began a new period of development and was approved by the Holy See in 1899. It now has 8 houses with 220 religious.
