CONGREGATION OF THE HOLY FAMILY OF NAZARETH. — It was founded in 1886 in Brescia by the pious priest Giovanni Piamarta (b. 1841, d. 1913) for the Christian education and vocational training of the children of the people, in institutes of arts and crafts, agricultural schools, and other similar works. The C. is composed of priests and coadjutors: the former for the sacred ministry and the governance of the house, the latter for assisting the young in the workshops. Approved by the Holy See in 1948, the C. has 16 houses with approximately 200 members.
