CONGREGATION OF PRIESTS OF THE SCHOOLS OF CHARITY. — It was established in Venice in 1802 by the priest brothers Marcantonio and Antonio Angelo Crvanis (q.v.) to ensure the survival of the school they had founded a few years earlier and which was recognized in 1812 by the government of the Kingdom of Italy.

In this school, free for all, young people are educated with a teaching method characterized by paternal familiarity and mutual trust. The young are prepared for life through profound Christian instruction and the constant practice of the Sacraments. Approved by the Holy See in 1836, the Congregation today has 3 houses with approximately 70 religious.
