Congregation of the Sacred Hearts. — A female institute founded in Poitiers in 1797 by Fr. Pierre Coudrin and Countess Henriette Aymer de la Chevalerie.
It has both contemplative and active purposes, with perpetual adoration of the Most Holy Sacrament. It also runs schools for the education of youth, homes and places of care for the sick. The institute has 56 houses spread across Europe, America, and Australia, with over 1,600 sisters.
