«CONSORS PATERNI LUMINIS». – Morning hymn for Tuesday, composed by St Ambrose. It is a prayer that rises to Christ as the bearer of light: to this unfailing Light it asks to come and dispel the darkness and to put to flight the infernal hosts. The hymn is full of warmth and humility in its prayer, which asks Christ for the light of day, a foretaste of the eternal light.
