CORNAGGIA-MEDICI CASTIGLIONI, CARLO OTTAVIO. – Senator, born in Milan on 6 December 1851, died there on 10 April 1905. Deputy for Milan in the XXII and XXIII legislatures, he was appointed senator in 1904. After obtaining a degree in law at Pavia, he immediately devoted himself to political activity by joining the Catholic movement, of which he was one of the most representative figures.
An advocate of an alliance with the liberals of the Right, he held many public offices in Milan, where he was municipal councillor, assessor, provincial councillor, and president of the Ospedale Maggiore. Defeated in the elections for the XXIV legislature, he did not stand again. He founded the newspaper la Lega lombarda, later merged with L'osservatore.
